#1 · Mar 30, 2004 What are the differences between the early 70's cats as far as the chassis and engines go? I have read Mikeriders info and it left me wondering what the differences were. Are the Puma, Panther, Lynx and Cheetah all built on different platforms? Thanks for sharing.

During the 1971 model season Arctic Cat made more then 74,000 snowmobiles. Models included the Lynx, Puma, Panther, EXT, EXT Special and King Kat. The EXT was made off of the Puma chassis which came with a 17-inch-wide rubber belted cheated track with about 30 inches on the snow. The EXT was 30 inches wide from outside ski to outside ski.

#1 · Aug 31, 2004 hi guys, what ya think, i just bought a 71 puma with the bigmouth hood and 634 engine, no i am use to gettin these old sleds for next to nothing but i wanted one of these, and had to pay 600.00 bucks for it, it needs a little work but i got a parts machine last year for nothing and ill post pics when i get her home. #1 · May 13, 2010 So my grandpa who lives across the street from me bought a 1970 arctic cat puma or panther 634. I'm not sure if its a panther or an puma but he bought it brand new back in 1970 from the local arctic cat dealer. It has 800 original miles on it and it has sat in his garage since 1978 and hasnt been run since.
